According to official studies, there is still a renovation backlog of sports facilities amounting to over €30 billion across Germany. This also applies in particular to smaller ice rinks that are used for young talent, women's, grassroots and... Para-Ice hockey is indispensable and groundbreaking for the future of ice hockey as a sport. With this public event organized by the German Ice Hockey Federation eV and the Ice Hockey Association NRW eV as part of the FSB 2021, both associations want to once again set an example and focus even more on the interests of the clubs and especially the effects of the corona pandemic.
In 2017 and 2019, events on the topic “The country needs new ice rinks” were held as part of the FSB trade fair with great success and many participants. The feedback for the first two events was great and the topic continues to be one of the most important in German ice hockey. And so the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund is pleased to be part of the 3rd public event within the International FSB Trade Fair at Koelnmesse on October 26, 2021 in Cologne this year.
