From the teams perspective
Tara Schmitz, captain Mad Dogs Mannheim about the two wins against Cologne: “It was noticeable that we were able to get off to a successful start to the season thanks to our preparatory games. Nevertheless, our exploitation of opportunities should have been more positive. We will work on that in the next training sessions.”
Christina Schwamborn, goalscorer KEC The Sharks: “The weekend showed us that there is a lot of potential in the team! The game on Sunday was a strong team performance, we must and will build on that and work on exploiting our chances.”
George Taferner, head coach ECDC Memmingen about the two defeats against Ingolstadt: “We really sold ourselves well and dearly on Saturday. The girls stuck to the tactical guidelines excellently. On Sunday, our players showed incredible morale and didn't let themselves get rattled despite being behind. We more than deserved our first point this season.”
Tanja Eisenschmid, captain ERC Ingolstadt about the first two victories of the season: "We are happy with the weekend. Of course there are always things that you can work on and improve. We never gave up and kept going, which ultimately led to two victories. We won twice and we are very happy about that. This season we definitely still have to get used to each other and get used to each other. That always takes a while, but we are confident that things will get better quickly."
Hanna Amort, captain Eisbären Juniors Berlin about the two opening defeats: "I think we started well in the first game and showed two strong thirds. But against opponents like that, every mistake is punished. We have to work on staying focused for 60 minutes. We are a very young, inexperienced team and we have to show more mental strength and fight."
Marcel Breil, head coach ESC Planegg-Würmtal about the two successes in Berlin: "We can be satisfied overall, given the very short preparation time and other handicaps. The line with Kerstin Spielberger and Julia Zorn was obviously very strong today. Next weekend we play at home against Mannheim, and we want to continue like this. We don't know much about the Mad Dogs yet, they seem to be a bit stronger than last year."
