With Kaufbeuren and Landshut, the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund e. V (DEB) two traditional locations selected as venues for the 2022 IIHF U18 World Championship. Ten top nations at 2022 IIHF U18 World Championships in Germany
The reigning world champions from Canada and vice world champions Russia lead the strong field of participants next year. Other participants are: Finland, the USA, Switzerland, Latvia, Sweden (bronze at the IIHF U18 World Championship 2021), Belarus, the Czech Republic and Germany. In the preliminary round, five teams meet in two groups; everyone plays against each other. The first four teams reach the playoffs with quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. With relegation, a maximum of 31 games will be played in total.

New impulses for young talent work
By holding the high-level tournament, he hopes DEB new impulses for the World Cup locations in Kaufbeuren and Landshut as well as the whole of ice hockey Germany, especially for young talent work in the clubs.
