National coach Thomas Schädler: "When you lose, disappointment is always the first thing that comes first. I was still proud of how the team fought in this game and brought passion to the ice. Our shorthanded play was really good in this match, but unfortunately we lacked offense today. It will be important tomorrow that we create more chances and use them in the end. We have to cover the puck well against Japan and get the pucks from the blue line to the goal."
Defense attorney Tabea Botthof: "We never stopped playing, always stayed in rhythm and always cheered each other on as a team because we always want to give our best on the ice."
Defense attorney Tanja Eisenschmid: "I think with a view to the quarter-finals we need to be more consistent and play more aggressively. We just need to keep our legs moving and work better in the offensive zone. Of course, that also means we need to score goals. That's the only way to win games."
The German women's national team will be in action again tomorrow, Thursday. In the WinSports Arena, the team of women's national coach Thomas Schädler will face Japan in the last preliminary round match from 19:30 p.m. (03:30 a.m. +1 a.m. German time).
