The U16 national team of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund e. V (DEB) took second place at the four-nation tournament in Füssen. After victories against Austria (2:1) and Belarus (4:1), the selection of honorary national coach Robert Schroepfer only had to admit defeat to the young talent of Switzerland with 2:4.
“We are very happy with the start. The team spirit off the ice was great too. Commitment and attitude were right. It’s a shame that we weren’t rewarded for our good performance against Switzerland,” was Robert Schroepfer’s conclusion. The German team had a 50-2 lead against the Swiss until the 1th minute before the Swiss turned the game around. “We have given the team some homework that the players now have to tackle together with the state and club coaches,” the coach explains the next steps.

It comes with a positive conclusion U17 selection returned from the five-nation tournament in Visp (Switzerland).
“We have decided to take another step regardless of the results. “We managed to do that,” says honorary national coach Philip Kipp. He was able to see an improvement from game to game. “The team implemented our instructions so well that we were able to keep all the games close. I am very satisfied.” The German selection held up very well for long stretches against the Czech Republic (1:2), Slovakia (1:4) and Switzerland (5:6 OT). The game against the USA was scored 0:5 because the German team did not play due to two positive corona cases among their opponents. “We have clearly identified and named the construction sites.
