National coach Tom Schädler: “We started the game against Denmark really well. However, after 20 minutes we lost focus a bit. The Danes put a lot of pressure on us and we had to struggle with that. In the end we got better again and appeared more stable as a team. We are happy about the win and these important three points. Of course, we will continue to do everything we can to achieve the best possible group placement. The game against the Czech Republic will definitely not be easy. They are technically and running very strong. After our two victories, I am still very confident that we can complete this task.”
Striker Theresa Wagner: “From our point of view, the first third was really strong. We played and fought really well as a team. Unfortunately, in the middle of the second third we let up a bit and had a little difficulty getting back into our game. Of course I was very happy about my goal. It was my first at a World Cup. At this point I also have to thank Anna Reich for putting the puck on me perfectly. It’s always nice to be able to play for Germany and be able to help the team with a goal.”
