National coach Tom Schädler has announced the final squad for the IIHF Women's World Championship (20 to 31 August 2021) in Canada. Today, Tuesday, a total of 24 players will travel by charter flight to the World Championship venue Calgary. The women's national team had previously spent around a week preparing for the tournament at the national base in Füssen.
After arriving in Calgary, the team and accompanying staff will first have to undergo a five-day quarantine (individual isolation in hotel rooms). During the World Cup preparations and the Women's World Cup in Canada, the IIHF is relying on a tight testing procedure due to the pandemic, as it has done at all previous tournaments.
After the mandatory quarantine, the DEB-Start the selection in the immediate preparation for the World Cup. As a World Cup dress rehearsal, a test match against future group opponents Denmark is planned on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 14 p.m. (local time).
The first World Cup game will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 12 p.m. (Canadian local time). The first match will be against the Hungarian selection. Other group opponents are Denmark (August 23, 12 p.m.), the Czech Republic (August 25, 16 p.m.) and Japan (August 26, 19.30:XNUMX p.m.).

At the same time, we got through the intensive training week without any injuries and are happy to have two young U18 players in the World Cup squad who can now prove themselves at the highest level.
