The team of U18 national coach Alexander Dück tried to digest yesterday's heavy defeat and met powerful Americans. The favored US team started strongly and took the lead through Lund in the fourth minute. But the German selection didn't give up, held up against it with their virtues and had chances themselves which, however, could not be used. Plante increased the score to 18-2 for the US team in the 0th minute before the first break.
The Americans remained powerful in the second third and consequently increased the lead to 5-0 with goals from Livanavage and a brace from Lund.
In the last section, the superiority of the US boys became most clear. Lund tied up a four-pack with another goal. Hayes, Livanavage, Clark and Steenari also scored to make the final score 10-0.

We have to learn to develop trust in our own game and we have to work with concentration over the full distance. At international level, no one will give you anything for free. We will use the day off tomorrow to relax and then play the best possible ice hockey in the game for seventh place.”
