The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund congratulates them Starbulls Rosenheim for the award of the “Green Ribbon” 2021 from the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and Commerzbank AG. A total of 50 clubs from all over Germany were honored by a top-class jury for their exemplary talent promotion. From numerous applications, the jury selected those with the most convincing and innovative young talent performance concepts. The sponsorship award for young talent competitive sports in the club was awarded for the 35th time this year.
For example, sporting successes are assessed, as are cooperations with schools, the coaching situation and the club's social and educational offerings. From clubs from smaller communities to large starting communities from metropolitan areas, everyone has the chance to win the 5.000 euro funding bonus. This is a particularly welcome recognition of the commitment of many clubs, especially after the corona-related restrictions.
The diversity of German competitive sport is reflected in the many applications from clubs from Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines. In addition to established sports such as football, swimming and tennis, clubs from smaller sports such as squash and figure skating are also awarded the “Green Ribbon”. Last year secured EHC 80 Nürnberg as an ice hockey club the award for particularly good talent promotion, before that the ETC Crimmitschau eV and the ESV 03 Chemnitz eV.
Commerzbank and the DOSB would like to personally honor the young talents, trainers and helpers in 2021 within the framework of the applicable rules. Those responsible are currently examining the extent to which it will be possible to return to award ceremonies as part of the “Green Belt” tour of Germany and are developing an event concept adapted to the respective pandemic developments in compliance with the applicable hygiene regulations.
The jury in 2021 will be: Veronika Rücker (DOSB CEO), Elvira Menzer-Haasis (President of the State Sports Association Baden-Württemberg), Uwe Hellmann (Head of Brand Management at Commerzbank), Uschi Schmitz (DOSB Vice President Competitive Sports) and anti-doping expert and Olympic rowing champion Meike Evers-Rölver.
