Claus Gröbner will be the new Secretary General of the German Ice Hockey Federation and will therefore take on responsibility for the administrative area of the association's work in the future. The 47-year-old was born DEB-Presidium appointed by President Franz Reindl and takes up his position at DEB on May 1, 2021.
Gröbner was awarded the contract after a careful selection process and several discussions with the entire team DEB-Presidium. The Allgäu native ultimately prevailed against candidates who were particularly excellent in the final phase. The DEB is thus pushing forward the announced separation of the administrative and sporting areas in the management.
Gröbner worked in senior positions at Penny DEL for almost ten years, most recently as managing director at ERC Ingolstadt, with whom he celebrated the German championship in 2014. The qualified sports economist was previously also at EHC Red Bull München employed. In the past, Gröbner was also a member of the bidding company for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Munich and the international TV channel Eurosport. As a lecturer, Gröbner currently teaches at various universities in the areas of international management, sports management and sports marketing.
