The Deutschland Cup stays in Krefeld for two more years. The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund and Seidenweberhaus GmbH, operator of the YAYLA ARENA in Krefeld, agreed to continue the partnership for the events in November 2021 and 2022. The home tournament of the DEB should then take place again in the usual four-a-side format with three international opponents. MagentaSport and SPORT1 on free TV will broadcast the tournament. In November 2020, the mode was changed to a three-part format due to corona. Latvia won the tournament in the final against the German national team.
DEB-President Franz Reindl: “We are looking forward to two more years in Krefeld. It is a proven partnership that has worked very, very well in recent years. In particular, the great commitment of the city of Krefeld and the employees of the YAYLA ARENA last November should be highlighted, who gave us enormous support in ensuring that the Deutschland Cup could be carried out at all. It is by no means a given that the YAYLA ARENA has agreed to host the event for the next few years given the very complicated conditions in the event industry. We’re really grateful for that.”
Paul Keusch, Managing Director of Seidenweberhaus GmbH: “We dealt with it in a very short time DEB about a two-year extension of the partnership for the hosting of the Deutschland Cups agreed in the YAYLA ARENA. This not only stems from the excellent collaboration over the last three years, but also recognizes the professional approach of our entire team in terms of service, customer friendliness, organizational and technical know-how, and so on. We look forward to demonstrating these qualities again.”
Frank Meyer, Mayor of the City of Krefeld: “As a traditional ice hockey city, we are pleased that the Deutschland-Cup stays in Krefeld for another two years and thank the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund for the good cooperation. Together with the organizers, we hope that the course of the corona pandemic will make everything that fascinates us so much about ice hockey possible again: thrilling duels on the ice, sport at the highest technical and combative level and, of course, the fantastic atmosphere in our arena."
