Women's national coach Christian Künast will be represented on the boards by U18 women's national coach Franziska Busch at the women's national team's first three international matches for more than ten months. Künast has been involved since the preparation and implementation of the Deutschland Cups and until further notice from DEB-Presidium also appointed him as interim sports director and sports coordinator for a wide range of tasks. The Landshut native is currently the sports director of the U20 national team and will accompany the team in this role to the challenging U20 World Cup in Edmonton, Canada.
A long wait is finally over for the German women's national team; the selection of the German Ice Hockey Federation can compete again at international level next week. The DEBteam will meet from December 15th to 19th, 2020 at the federal base in Füssen for a course, during which three international matches against Switzerland are on the program. The duels of the DEB-Women's events are scheduled for three consecutive days on December 17th, 18th and 19th (17 p.m., 16 p.m. and 12 p.m.) and will be held without an audience.
They had the last international matches DEB-Selection contested in February 2020. So far this season, due to the coronavirus, there has only been the opportunity to take various courses at the federal base. The three comparisons are an important assessment for the women's national team - also with a view to the World Cup tournament in April 2021. The squad was also put together against this background, in which the injured Yvonne Rothemund is missing.

Franziska leads the team under the same concept, with the same guidelines and tactical guidelines. I receive a lot of support in my current tasks, especially from national coach Toni Söderholm and Karl Schwarzenbrunner, our national coach for science and training. Despite all the efforts, I really enjoy these tasks.”

Otherwise, the same team as always works around the team and that works very well. Christian and I have already had perspective courses together, we know how we work and have clear structures. The games are important to get an up-to-date impression after such a long time. The team is excited and really excited. From now on, every game counts as part of our direct World Cup preparation, as we don't know how many more opportunities we'll get. We want to win the games, that has to be our goal.”
