The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund has confirmed the approval granted to the EXA Icefighters Leipzig for the upcoming season of the Oberliga Nord confirmed. The Icefighters met the conditions agreed upon as part of a settlement on time by September 30, 2020. In addition to proof of the definitive availability of a venue, this included further economically necessary evidence that was provided in writing. This means that the approval, which was initially only granted provisionally, remains valid.
It should be mentioned again that the DEB took into account the Leipzig team's intensive efforts in the process over the last few weeks, as well as the difficulties caused by the Corona crisis throughout the entire Oberliga admission process. Linked to the approval, there are further requirements that must be observed over the course of the season for the fifth place in the main round from the previous season, which relate to economic indicators that must be adhered to and are regularly checked.
