The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund mourns the loss of Rita Kwiet, the former president of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ice and Roller Sports Association. Kwiet, whose great love was figure skating, recently died in Homburg/Saar at the age of 84. As a co-founder of her regional association in September 1966, Kwiet played an important role in the development of ice sports in her region.
She was in for over 40 years Rheinland-Pfalz State coach in figure skating and ice dancing, then president of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ice and Roller Sports Association from 2015 to 2017.
