Reichel, Peterka and Stützle score – Reisnecker converts the decisive penalty to make it 4:3
The German U20 national team has its third match against Switzerland within four days after a very close duel 4:3 (2:1, 0:0, 1:2, 0:0, 1:0) after penalty shootout won. U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter's team completed the test match treble against the Swiss with two wins and one defeat. The Neu-Bremerhavener converted the decisive penalty Filip Reisnecker.
The top talents also distinguished themselves on Thursday at the OYM sports performance center in Cham near Zug Lukas Reichel, John-Jason Peterka and Tim Stützle all of them as goal scorers. Reichel (5th) scored the lead after a pass from Maximilian Glötzl, shortly afterwards Peterka (7th) increased the lead to 2-0, which Stützle served well. Finally, it was Stützle, assisted by Tommy Pasanen, who saved the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund's selection into overtime 27 seconds before the end of the game. The Swiss had previously turned a 18-54 deficit into a 55-0 lead with goals from Inaki Baragano (2th/power), Jannik Canova (3th) and Simon Knak (2th).
In the gate of the DEB-Team stood this time BerlinHe Tobias Ancicka, who, like Christopher Kolarz and Jonas Gähr, received a full game from Coach Abstreiter. Overall, we succeeded DEBteam eleven goals in the three games, the U13 conceded 20 goals. The most successful players were Reichel with four goals, Peterka and Manuel Alberg with two goals each and Stützle, Tommy Pasanen and Reisnecker with one goal each. The six-day summer course was the first DEB-Measure since the corona-related break in March.
U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter: “It was a good performance for the most part, but we unnecessarily brought the Swiss back into the game ourselves. The positive thing is that we then reacted again and mobilized everything despite the deficit. Overall, it was a pleasant conclusion. A positive impression remains, we got better from game to game, just as we wanted. The boys presented themselves very well and handled the situation very responsibly.”
Captain Tim Stützle: “It was good for us that we had a few games again. It was cool to see the guys again. I think we presented ourselves quite solidly. You could tell that we hadn't been on the ice for a long time, it was difficult to get back into it after more than four months without competition. I felt pretty good, but I definitely didn’t play my best hockey.”
