Zap, Freis, Roßmy and Nikolaus Heigl score the goals for Steffen Ziesche's team in a 4-2 win
The German U18 national team won the second test match against Switzerland at the summer course in Zuchwil. Just under 20 hours after the narrow 1:2 on Tuesday evening, the team of U18 national coach Steffen Ziesche sat down 4:2 (2:0, 2:1, 0:1) through and thus achieved a successful conclusion to the first DEB-Measure in the new season.
Roman Zap (5.) from the Jungadler Mannheim, who had already scored the day before, scored the opening goal for the selection of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund, the Cologne team Markus Freis (15.) increased in the first third. After Mats Alge (24th) temporarily shortened the score for the Swiss, the player who was active in the Czech Republic took over Bennet Rossmy (27./Powerplay) and Nikolaus Heigl (29.) from the Red Bull Hockey Academy to 4:1. In the final third, the success was no longer in danger despite Benjamin Bougro's 2:4 (52nd minute).
U18 national coach Steffen Ziesche: "It was a concentrated and compact team performance from the goalkeeper to the strikers right from the start. We consistently took advantage of our opportunities and this time scored goals at the decisive moments. The training course was very important for us, it was very good to get to know the boys. The players did what they were supposed to and improved again in the second game. The boys also followed the rules perfectly."
