The teams of the Oberliga Nord and South have agreed on a temporary transfer freeze. The two are under the umbrella of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund. V (DEB) organized leagues agreed at joint situation discussions this week not to hold any contract discussions or make any player transfers until April 30, 2020.
These measures are intended to enable all clubs to address the current economic challenges and tasks during the Corona crisis before the admission process for the 2020/2021 league season starts in April. The current core issues in every club include, among other things, cost reduction. Administrative costs, player salaries and additional costs as well as duties and fees should be examined.
Transfers and contract extensions that have already been completed in the past weeks and months are excluded from the regulation.
Marc Hindelang, DEB-Vice President: “In these times, it is a positive signal of common sense that all upper league teams now want to take this common path, because only together can we get through this crisis as harmlessly as possible.”
