On the fourth matchday of the Five Nations Tournament in Berlin showed the German one U19 national team Another increase in performance that paid off today. The team led by Young Talent national coach Tobias Abstreiter won the game against the Czech Republic 2-1.
The first third initially did not contain any major events. Both teams were on equal terms before the German selection had to withstand a power play from their Czech opponents in the seventh minute. This was achieved without any problems and in the tenth minute of the game Fabjon Kuqi took his chance on a pass from Philipp Preto and Tim Detig and made it 1-0. In the remainder of the third, the team led by Young Talent national coach Tobias Abstreiter remained superior until the Czechs countered with a goal in the 19th minute.
The middle period opened with a power play for the German team. However, this did not lead to another goal. Team Germany also missed another power play in the 31st minute of the game. In the 35th minute, Kevin Slezak finally scored the goal to make it 2-1 for the German selection. With this result we went into the second break.
In the final third, both teams were able to maintain constant pressure. A situation of being outnumbered in the 52nd minute of the game had no consequences for the German team. But even when the Czechs continued to leave no stone unturned and swapped the goalie for a sixth field player at the end of the game, Germany remained just ahead. The result of 2-1 was maintained until the final whistle and gave the German team the three points they deserved.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the last matchday, the German U19 national team will face Switzerland at 16:30 p.m. in the Wellblechpalast. All possibilities are still open - with a win, Germany could finish the home tournament in third place.
Tobias Abstreiter, U20 national coach: “Compliments to my team, they were able to improve again today and take another step in the right direction. We played consistently defensively today and allowed few chances. At the end we were able to reward ourselves for 60 minutes of hard work. Now it’s time to regenerate well so that we can finish the tournament tomorrow with a good performance.”
Victory for the U17 national team at the 4-nation tournament in Füssen! In the second game of the competition, Young Talent national coach Philip Kipp's team won 8:4 (1:0, 2:2, 5:2).
Roman Zap put the German U17 team in the lead in the 14th minute, but Simon Kliment had the right answer in the 28th minute. DEB-Selection subsequently took the lead two more times, but had to accept the equalizer each time. In the 45th minute, Sandro Mayr scored to make it 4-3 and activated the German team's goal-scoring mood. As a result, Nikolaus Heigl (47th), Pascal Steck (49th), Sandro Mayr (52nd) and Bennet Rossmy (54th) scored and increased the score to 8:3. Antonio Ozvald's goal in the 57th minute only made the result cosmetic.
The U16 women's national team lost their first game at the 4-nation tournament in Benesov, Czech Republic. Young Talent national coach Daniel Bartell's team lost to the hosts 1:11 (0:4, 0:1, 1:6).
Petra Matejova and Viktorie Jilkova gave the Czechs an early lead in the 4th and 10th minutes. Within 41 seconds, the host extended their lead to four goals in the 18th minute thanks to Adela Sapovalivova and Viktorii Jilkovou. In the middle section, the Czechs used their playful advantages and scored through Adela Sapovalivova to make it 5-0. Tereza Plosova, Natalie Brichova, Eliska Hotova and Adelu Vrhelovou increased the score at the start of the third period before Lola Liang scored Germany's only goal of the day in the 52nd minute. Ultimately, Tereza Plosova and Barboru Bartakovou scored to make the final score 11-1 in favor of the hosts.
