The German U18 national team lost their opening game of the 4-nation tournament in Slovakia. The team of U18 national coach Steffen Ziesche lost to the hosts 1:2 (0:1, 1:0, 0:1).
In the opening third they had to DEB-Selection conceded a goal in the 16th minute: Roman Faith made it 1-0 for the hosts after assists from Samuel Rehák and Juraj Slafkovský. Fabrizio Pilu equalized the game in the German team's favor in the 28th minute. Joel Marchon put the Swiss ahead in the 23rd minute.
