The German ice hockey athletes secured four medals at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne. In the ice hockey mixed 3-on-3 tournament, Leonie Böttcher and her yellow team beat the black team 6-1 in the final and secured gold. At the same time, Maja Stöber won the bronze medal with the blue team with a 6:4 win in the game for third place. Matthias Bittner secured the silver medal for the men. Bittner and the red team lost in the final against the “green” team with 3:4. Furthermore, Marlon D'Acunto won with the brown team in the game for third place against the black team with a narrow score of 10:3 and thus perfected the second German bronze medal.
Franz Reindl, DEB-President: "Congratulations! This is a very nice personal success for our athletes and their mixed teams. Ice hockey creates lasting connections across nations and countries. The respective home clubs can also be very proud of this. I am looking forward to being able to watch the Youth Olympic Games live in Lausanne next week."
