MagentaSport has secured the broadcast rights for the 2020 IIHF U20 Ice Hockey World Championship in the Czech Republic and will show all German games including possible knockout and relegation games as well as the final live and exclusively for all MagentaSport customers. Depending on the performance of the German team, the ice hockey teams canFans Watch up to eight games in total.
The live games can be viewed by all customers with a MagentaSport subscription or the ice hockey subscription. Reception is via the MagentaSport app for SmartTV or smartphone, on magentasport.de or via Telekom's own TV platform MagentaTV.

After the opening match against the USA (27 December, 19 p.m.), the German team led by national coach Tobias Abstreiter will face hosts Czech Republic in the preliminary round on 28 December (15 p.m.), Canada on 30 December (15 p.m.) and Russia on 31 December (15 p.m.).
After the four group games in the preliminary round, the top four in each group qualify for the quarter-finals, which, like the other rounds, are played in the knockout system. The fifth place in the group games will be relegated in a “best-of-three” format. The final of the 44th U20 Ice Hockey World Championships will take place on January 05th, 2020.
