Women's national team: defeat at the end of the 4-nation tournament
At the end of the 4-nation tournament in Füssen, Germany lost to Finland 2:3 (0:1/1:1/1:1) after a strong performance.
After Switzerland's win against Sweden it went for that DEB-Team still for 2nd place. To do this, at least one point had to be scored. Finland would move up to 60nd place with a win after 2 minutes.
Finland started very powerfully, Jennifer Harss had the same number of shots on goal in her 201st international match. Germany's goalkeeper made some spectacular saves, but after 13 minutes she was also powerless. Germany had just survived a penalty when Rosa Lindstedt scored to make it 0-1. It was thanks to Jennifer Harss that the score was only 1:0 after the first third.
Germany came out of the locker room a little more offensive, but after a few minutes the Finns came back. And they used a penalty against Laura Kluge to make it 27-0 after 2 minutes, Rosa Lindstedt was successful again. Finland continued to set the tone, but then received two penalty times. And this double majority led to connection. Tabea Botthof received the puck from Andrea Lanzl and her hammer landed in the Finnish goal. Both teams had further chances, but the score remained 1:2 after 40 minutes.
Germany entered the final third with a power play. Although this could not be used, it gave additional momentum. The team now had more chances and Finland's goalkeeper Jenna Silvonen also had to intervene more often. Finland managed to get some breathing room again after 46 minutes. A hidden shot is deflected in front of the goal and the puck landed unstoppably in the goal. The goal scorer was Noora Tulus. Germany continued to fight and was able to make things exciting again three minutes before the end. Andrea Lanzl laid it up and Laura Kluge shot the puck under the crossbar. The DEB-Team gave everything again, but the score remained 2:3.
This proves that DEBteam ended up in 3rd place, behind Switzerland and Finland. Jennifer Harss was also named the tournament's best goalkeeper.
Christian Künast, women’s national coach: “We showed a committed and good performance against the runner-up world champions today. We were close to equalizing and saw that we could play on equal terms against such an opponent. The team is on the right track and it’s fun to watch them.”

U18 women's national team: defeat against Finland
At the 4-nation tournament in Finland, the German U18 women's national team also lost their second game significantly despite an appealing performance in the end. There was a 1:5 (0:1, 0:2, 1:2) defeat against the Czech selection.
The German team started again with enthusiasm, but fell behind in the ninth minute. Gabriela Hrubanova scored for the Czechs. From the German selection's point of view, an outnumbered situation could not be taken advantage of and after Lilly Uhrmann continued to hold her own in the German top team, they went into the first third break with a narrow deficit.
Right at the start of the second period, Adela Hanzlikova and Tereza Mazancova scored for Team Czech Republic. The Czechs took the lead to 3-0. Six penalty minutes and individual errors put a strain on the German team's game.
In the final third, U18 women's national coach Franziska Busch's team scored a consolation goal. Ronja Hark scored Nina Christof after an assist from Fine Raschke. However, the Czechs were also successful twice again, so that the last third was also lost and Team Germany ultimately lost the game clearly with 1:5.
Tomorrow the 4-nation tournament ends against Switzerland, which lost 0-6 to the hosts from Finland today.
Franziska Busch, U18 women’s national coach: “We started the game well again today and implemented many of the instructions well, but then we were thrown off course by individual mistakes and lack of concentration. In the final third we were able to balance the game again. We now need to build on that and deliver a consistent and consistent performance over 60 minutes against Switzerland tomorrow.”
