Deutschland Cup Squad: National coach Toni Söderholm nominates 27 players

National coach Toni Söderholm has the 27-man squad for the second edition of the Deutschland Cup announced in the YAYLA ARENA Krefeld. Accordingly, three goalkeepers, nine defenders and 15 strikers will appear for the national team in the four-nation tournament. The nomination was carried out by Söderholm in close consultation with the sporting directors and coaches of the DEL clubs. “It is important for us that as many players as possible stay injury-free and fresh during the season so that we can continue to help the national team in the future,” explains the national coach. “That’s why the exchange with those responsible was important in order to give selected players a break when the workload was higher – as is the case with three German clubs, for example due to the Champions Hockey League.”

The players who are being considered for the U20 national team squad are preparing with the DEBselection at the parallel tournament in Piešťany (Slovakia) for the upcoming 2020 IIHF U20 Ice Hockey World Championship.
