The German U16 national team narrowly lost their last game at the 2-nation tournament in Vierumäki (Finland) despite a significant increase in performance. The team of U16 national coach Thomas Schädler lost to the hosts from Finland 1:3 (0:1, 1:1, 0:1).
The sixth minute brought Germany's first big chance. Luca Hauf tested Topias Leinonen in the Finnish goal but could not overcome him. A little later, Matthias Pischoff tried again, but his shot was still too imprecise. Afterwards it made it DEB-Selection to keep the opponent away from your own goal, but you couldn't create your own chances either. In the 13th minute, Luca Hauf sent Moritz Elias on his way, who moved to the outside of the goal, but only hit Leinonen's shoulder. In the 35th minute, Moritz Elias took advantage of a follow-up shot from Matthias Pischoff to reduce Germany's lead to 1-2. Shortly before the last break, Julian Lutz had another chance, but substitute Niklas Kokko parried the shot and so it went DEB-Selection with a narrow deficit in the final third.
The final third was marked by a number of penalties on both sides. Substitute Simon Wolf saved his team with a few Parafree your back. However, with the final siren, the Finnish team scored through Tuomas Hynninen into the empty German goal to make the final score 1:3.
