The German U18 women's national team lost the last game at the 4-nation tournament in Tomakomai (Japan). U18 national coach Franziska Busch's team lost to hosts Japan 2:5 (1:3, 1:1, 0:1) against Japan.
Like last November in Bad Tölz, when Japan and the DEB-Selection played for the tournament victory in that edition of the tournament, the game in Tomakomai also became the final exchange of blows between both teams. The Japanese tried to put pressure on the German goal, which was guarded by Lilly Uhrmann, with their usual strong running style of play. In the tenth minute, Hina Shimomukai scored for Japan to make it 0-1. Five minutes before the first break, Yumeka Wajima increased the score to 0-2 during a German penalty. The German team, in the person of Lilli Welcke, used their first majority to reduce the score to 1:2 shortly before half-time. But just under forty seconds later, Yumeka Wajima restored the old gap again with a score of 1:3.
The middle third was characterized by penalties on both sides. Lilli Welcke used one of them again in the 26th minute to reduce the score to 2:3. A minute and a half before the second break, Sofie Disl, who was substituted as agreed, was powerless in the German goal when Airi Sato deflected a shot from the blue line under the crossbar to make it 2-4. Four minutes after the restart, Azuki Ushio put the final score on the game with 2:5 for Japan.
