International match start for DEB-Women: 3-nation tournament in Budapest (Hungary)

Women's national team meets Hungary and Switzerland at the start of the international match / Künast: “Implementation of the content developed”

From August 20th to 24th, 2019, the women's national team will compete in their first tournament of the young season. For this measure, the German squad has two goalkeepers, eight defenders and twelve strikers.

Before the 30-strong team DEBAs the convoy sets off for Budapest (Hungary) in the early morning of August 21st, national coach Christian Künast's team meets the day before to prepare for the games against the hosts from Hungary and Switzerland on home ice.

After the long journey, the German team completed two more training sessions before the first game against Hungary on Thursday, August 22nd at 18.00 p.m. Just 24 hours later, on August 23rd at 18.00 p.m., it hits DEB-Selection at the end of the Confederates from Switzerland.

Christian Künast, women’s national coach: “The tournament offers us the opportunity to implement the content we developed during our summer course in competition. With Hungary we will face a direct opponent at the upcoming World Cup in April, whom we want to defeat in the fight for one of the three quarter-final places up for grabs in our group.”
