Top team Beijing: National coach Toni Söderholm nominates 23 players for summer camp

The Top Team Beijing will meet from July 21st to 24th, 2019 at the federal base in Füssen as part of the first event of the new 2019/20 season. National coach Toni Söderholm has nominated three goalkeepers, eight defenders and twelve strikers for the summer camp.

“After we qualified directly for the Olympic Games, this first camp for our Top Team Beijing in the new season is of course something very special. It’s the kick-off to prepare for the tournament,” explains Söderholm. “We will use our World Cup analysis to train and further develop the system and carry out on- and off-ice tests. The aim is also to prepare the players in the best possible way for the new season in their clubs.”

Of the 23 nominated players, 15 have already played at least one senior international match. The most experienced players include Frederik Tiffels (41 international matches), Stefan Loibl (24) and Fabio Wagner (16). The nominated national players have played a total of 128 senior international matches.

The Top Team Beijing is a promising team that will bring young German players, match practice and competitive experience in international ice hockey with a view to the 2022 Olympic Games.
