The U18 and U20 national teams will meet from July 8th to 12th, 2019 at the Füssen federal base as part of a summer camp.
From June 24th to 28th, 2019, the team of U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter had already competed in the “Olympic and ParaOlympic Training Center for Germany” in Kienbaum worked in the areas of fitness and strength. At the beginning of the second week of July, the first on-ice measures will follow for the U20 and U18 national teams in Füssen.
In addition to the separate ice sessions of both Young Talent national teams, the U20 and U18 national players will be on the ice together on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, two mixed teams from both teams will meet. The following day, the U20 and U18 national teams will face each other in a direct duel.
Tobias Abstreiter, U20 national coach: “After our measures in Kienbaum, the U20 national players will continue in Füssen this week. There are again intensive units on the training plan, which differ from the previous course. While fitness and strength were trained in Kienbaum, this week we are focusing on on-ice measures. In Füssen there are two daily ice sessions for a large part of the training week.
Steffen Ziesche, U18 national coach: “We expect an interesting week with various on- and off-ice measures. It is important to approach the course with concentration and to observe and get to know the boys well. We will work with the U18 national players, particularly in the tactical area. It is our first measure on the way to the U18 World Cup in April 2020.”
