The German U16 women's national team lost its third game in the European Cup. The team of U16 women's national coach Florian Neumayer lost to Finland 0:2 (0:1, 0:1, 0:0).
The defending champions from Finland started powerfully and were able to create some good chances. Aleksandra Nurminen took the early lead after 75 seconds. An overall good performance was not enough to score points against Finland.
The U16 women's national team can no longer reach the semi-finals - in the last game against Norway on Saturday, the German team is fighting for group places 3 to 5.
U16 women’s national coach Florian Neumayer: “We couldn’t be happy with the performance in the first third. Too many bad passes and too much space for the opponent made it easy for Finland to dominate the action on the ice. We were better in the game in the middle third and were able to make our own offensive moves, but the feeling of success was not there. This was also the case in the last section when we were definitely in control. Now it’s time to prepare for Saturday’s game against Norway.”
