The National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), in partnership with Live Nation Sweden, today announced that the Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning will participate in the 2019 NHL Global Series in Europe. During these games, the Eisbären Berlin in the 2019 NHL Global Series Challenge on September 29, 2019 at 19:30 p.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin the Chicago Blackhawks.
Dominik Kahun, a national player, is returning to German ice this year as part of the 2019 NHL Global Series. The national players Leon Draisaitl and Tobias Rieder were guests in Germany last year - they met the Edmonton Oilers in the LANXESS arena Kölner Haie. The Eisbären Berlin have played once against a team from the NHL. On September 28, 2008, the DEL record champions lost 2-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning in their third game at the o4 World. The only goal more than ten years ago was scored by the Eisbären's all-time #20, Denis Pederson, to give them a 1-0 lead.
