The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) uses KINEXON technology in the Federal Performance Center (BLZ) for ice hockey in Füssen.
The permanent installation with a connection to the music box and Firstbeat interface took place in the BLZ arena. There is also a mobile solution for the training hall.
In the future, during training and competition, the tracking system will offer the possibility of accessing not only continuous long-term analysis but also immediate data collection of player performance - for example running distance, acceleration, time on ice, load during body checks and much more. The integration of Firstbeat data offers another advantage: this enables a comprehensive performance analysis of the athletes by combining internal and external load data.
The use of the system is intended for all national teams DEB (national team men and women, U20, U18, U16) as well as for screening measures.
The first official tournament where KINEXON data tracking was used was the 2019 IIHF U20 Ice Hockey World Championship Division I, Group A, which was held in Füssen from December 09th to 15th, 2018.
Michael Elmer, long-time ice hockey goalkeeping coach (including with the THOMAS SABO Ice Tigers, Adler Mannheim and the German national team) and now project manager for the ice hockey department at KINEXON: “We are very pleased that we have the DEB gained as customers. As a former player and coach, I see the clear advantages of the system. The precise and reliable data and the intuitive operation of the app open up completely new avenues in the areas of training control and intervention. Exact statements about the playing and training load help to challenge and support the players in the best possible way and to avoid injuries.”
Karl Schwarzenbrunner, national trainer for training and science: “With the help of permanent measurements during training and games, KINEXON gives us a more precise insight into the physiology of the athletes. This data allows us to make adjustments for testing protocols, everyday training and games. These findings then benefit the trainers in training and further education and thus all clubs.”
