The U16 national team lost the first game of the 4-nation Christmas tournament in Füssen against Finland 1:9 (0:1, 0:4, 1:4). The U18 national team lost 5:1 (7:0, 1:0, 4:1) to the Czech Republic at the start of the 2-nation tournament. At the Zuchwil sports center (Switzerland), U18 national coach Thomas Schädler's team was able to keep the first section balanced.
