In the middle third the German girls showed a completely different game. They stood up to their opponents and had chances of their own.
It was also an open game in the final period. In the 45th minute, a skate goal for Germany was disallowed, but three minutes later Leonie Böttcher scored the long-deserved consolation goal.
U16 Women's national coach Florian Neumayer: “Overall, apart from today’s first third, I can attest to a decent performance by the young team this weekend. We have seen which players are ready to take part in the two highlights of the season: the Four Nations Tournament and the European Cup. Then the regular players who were missing the last two days will be available again. This will increase the quality of the team.”
