DCup squad: Marco Sturm nominates 15 silver heroes and local hero Daniel Pietta

National coach Marco Sturm has the 28-man squad of the German national team for the premiere Deutschland Cups announced in Krefeld.

“We have found a good mix of established players and young, hungry players for the tournament and are therefore competing with the best possible squad,” explains national coach Marco Sturm. “We are looking forward to the tournament and would like to offer the Krefeld audience our best ice hockey.”

Meanwhile, Justin Krueger has announced his retirement from the national team. The 32-year-old SC Bern defender appeared in 99 games for them DEB-Selection for action, scored four times and prepared another ten goals. “I would like to thank all of my companions, my teammates and the team behind the team for this great time with the national team,” says Krueger about his resignation. “Since joining the U16 national team, I have been able to wear the national team jersey for 15 years – this was a great honor for me.”
