On 6 and 7 October the World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Numerous girls around the world took their first steps in ice hockey on these days, including in Berlin. They organized in the corrugated iron palace Eisbären Juniors Berlin an event where participants could come into contact with the fastest team sport in the world. From how to properly put on ice hockey equipment to a one-hour training session in which the girls were able to shoot, pass and play at various stations, the 30 participants had everything on offer.
After 60 minutes, all the coaches and girls came together to review the event and exchange ideas. At the end, the participants were delighted with small “giveaways” and information flyers that gave them a better understanding of the sport of ice hockey. The parents and children enjoyed the event in the Berlinhe corrugated iron palace – the Eisbären Juniors Berlin once again celebrated a successful event to recruit new ice hockey players. Australia, Mexico, Singapore – in numerous countries around the world, various clubs brought girls onto the ice for the first time and got them excited about the sport of ice hockey.
