One day after the first home win EHC Red Bull München The Olympic Ice Sports Center became the venue for the next highlight for young and old ice hockey fans: Together with national coach Marco Sturm and national player Marcus Kink, ski ace Felix Neureuther presented his second children's book, "Ixi and the cool huskies", to the numerous press representatives who had traveled there.
As with his first children's book “On the slopes, get set, go,” the ski star also had a very clear message in book number 2: team spirit, fairness and friendship are more important than any victory. And so the creation of the book was based on the motto “friendship”, as moderator Sascha Bandermann explained in the introduction. Felix Neureuther and Marcus Kink have been close friends since childhood and are also connected by their enthusiasm for ice hockey and sports. In his youth in Garmisch, Neureuther chased the puck together with Marcus Kink - and did so very successfully, as the ice hockey crack confirmed. This was not the only reason why Kink itself was particularly happy about the collaboration. The clubs and the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (Deutscher Eishockey-Bund eV) are also committed to conveying these values to children and introducing them to the fun of sport.DEB) at the forefront, according to Marco Sturm and Marcus Kink. Of course, ice hockey is a tough sport. But it is important, says Neureuther, to shake hands afterwards and stick together as a team. An important message for all three professionals - it was precisely this solidarity that brought the German team the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
By the way, young talented athletes can look forward to more than just the fast-paced adventures in children's books. Both Felix Neureuther and the DEB to promote young talent. Half of the book proceeds go to Felix Neureuther's “Move Smart” foundation and to children's and youth projects DEB. And if, as a result of the book, even just a few children decide to learn to ski or ice hockey or play another sport, the job as a children's book author will have been more than worth it, said Neureuther at the end of the press conference.
During the final photo session on the ice, he was able to prove that the skier hasn't forgotten anything on the ice. Marco Sturm and Marcus Kink attested to his excellent stick position and excellent stance on the ice.
