It is the big dream for every young ice hockey player: making it to the National Hockey League (NHL) or the step into Germany's highest league, the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). It's a long way to go, but if you have enough talent and commitment, you can achieve these goals. No one knows this better than the players of the German national ice hockey team. Each of them started small - with their first attempts at skating on the ice, their first ice hockey game or their first goal or save. In the #homevisit series, the national players return to the place where they experienced exactly these events and pass on their tips and tricks to young ice hockey talents.
In the fifth edition, ice hockey national player and Stanley Cup winner Philipp Grubauer returns to Rosenheim. The 26-year-old celebrated the greatest sporting success of his career with thousands of visitors. In the middle of it all: the Stanley Cup. The trophy travels to all players who have won the cup with the Washington Capitals. Most recently, the cup landed in Russia, Sweden and Denmark. Now the trophy traveled to Munich Airport, where it was received by Philipp Grubauer. Then it went to Rosenheim - Grubauer's home town. The 26-year-old presented the Stanley Cup in the local emilio stadium, showed the trophy to the numerous Rosenheim young talent players. Then it continued next door. In leather trousers, the national player enjoyed the celebrations on stage, and of course was ready for all photo requests. His most beautiful Parait.
Only in the last two years have German ice hockey fans been able to admire the Stanley Cup in Landshut. Tom Kühnhackl won the trophy with the Pittsburgh Penguins and brought it back to his hometown. Now thousands of Rosenheim visitors celebrated Philipp Grubauer's win of the Stanley Cup. "It's great that I can give something back to the club I played for for 14 years," said the national player on the sidelines of the event. "Perhaps it will also give Rosenheim's young talent players a boost. After all, they have now seen that a Rosenheimer has made it. Perhaps with this motivation another Rosenheim boy will soon bring the Stanley Cup back here."
