The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) was able to confirm the admission of 24 clubs for the 2018/19 Oberliga season. After checking the submitted documents, there is still a need for improvement for a major league applicant.
In the Oberliga Nord All 13 clubs can be confirmed to play in the 2018/19 season.

In the Oberliga Süd Eleven clubs have received their license for the coming season. Due to the planned insolvency proceedings that have been initiated, the twelfth applicant, SC Riessersee, has to wait for the final documents and approvals. A final decision is expected in the course of the coming week. EHC Bayreuth “The Tigers” is an applicant because the club will also take part in the German Ice Hockey League 2 (DEL2) next season.
