DEB-President and IIHF Council member Franz Reindl is now also serving on the board of directors of the Champions Hockey League (CHL). He was unanimously confirmed on Tuesday in Prague at the General Assembly of the CHL to replace René Fasel (President of the International Ice Hockey Federation), who was leaving there, and will be the IIHF's representative on the CHL Board in the future.
A further seven members of the Board of Directors, including Gernot Tripcke (DEL), were re-elected by the representatives of the participating clubs and leagues. In addition to Franz Reindl, ex-NHL star Håkan Loob is also joining the CHL committee. The vice president of the Alliance of European Ice Hockey Clubs will represent the Swedish clubs in the future.
Reindl was only at the weekend DEB-General Meeting in Freising was confirmed as President of the German Ice Hockey Federation for another four years. The 120 participants, among whom for the first time were the representatives of the DEL and DEL2 clubs, also voted DEB-President confirmed without any abstentions or dissenting votes.
