DEB-Presidium re-elected / Numerous positive developments in the last term of office / “Silver heroes” now DEB-Honorary members / Christian Ehrhoff, Marcel Goc and Patrick Reimer farewell
The executive committee of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund, consisting of Franz Reindl, Daniel Hopp, Berthold Wipfler and Marc Hindelang, has been re-elected with an overwhelming majority. During the association's 31st ordinary general meeting, the current executive committee received the trust of the 120 participants, among whom, for the first time, were the club representatives of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) and German Ice Hockey League 2 (DEL2). President Franz Reindl was unanimously re-elected. Vice Presidents Daniel Hopp, Marc Hindelang and Berthold Wipfler were also confirmed in their positions.
During the general meeting, the champion teams of the past season and the best main referee Nicole Hertrich as well as the best line referee Lukas Kohlmüller were honored. DEBIn his report, President Franz Reindl reviewed the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship held by the association and looked at the further positive developments of the past term of office DEB-Presidium back. “We are proud that we as an association can describe ourselves as 'financially healthy' after the last four years. We are also pleased about a historic high in membership numbers. Today we now have 102 members and 270 clubs.” He also spoke in particular about the development of the POWERPLAY 26 concept as a guide for promoting young talent, the positive developments in the sporting sector and the significant investments in young talent training.
“This year will always be remembered, everyone knows what they did on February 25th,” he said DEB-Vice President Marc Hindelang honored the “Silver Heroes”. The players who won the silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang as well as national coach Marco Sturm were present at the general meeting DEB- Appointed honorary members. Three of them – Marcel Goc, Christian Ehrhoff and Patrick Reimer – received further honors at the event for their special achievements for the German national ice hockey team.
