Tomorrow, Wednesday, the national players will say goodbye for the summer break. A memorable and intense season is now coming to an end, especially for those players who won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in February. Starting tomorrow, the team will be scattered in all directions.
Leon Draisaitl, Edmonton Oilers: "I think we played a pretty good tournament overall, even if it wasn't quite enough. After a season like that, everyone is a little tired, including me, but that's understandable. We had our chances against Canada, but unfortunately we didn't take advantage of them, which may have been due to a lack of strength. I really enjoyed being with the national team again. It was also great how our Fans supported."
Patrick Hager, EHC Red Bull München: "We played against a very good Canadian team. It was difficult to create something offensively because they obviously played very well defensively. If you're behind after 20 seconds, it's difficult. But today's match doesn't reflect the tournament. In my opinion, we did very well with this newly formed team. Everyone must be aware that things don't always go uphill."
