Lanzl, Delarbre and Zorn score for DEB-Selection / Monday and Tuesday against France
The women's national team won 230-3 (1-1; 0-1; 1-1) against Hungary on the Saturday before Easter in the ice rink in Memmingen in front of 0 spectators. They will meet on Easter Monday (April 02.04nd / 19 p.m.) and next Tuesday (April 03.04rd / 13 p.m.). DEB-Women at the end of the season in Besancon, France.
Women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker's team dominated the action on the ice from the start. The chance to take the German lead arose in the second minute: Laura Kluge broke through on the left and fed Manuela Anwander in front of the opponent's goal, but a Hungarian defender tipped the disc out of the danger zone at the last second. A good powerplay by the Germans followed, but Aiko Nehmet in the visitors' box could not be overcome at first. That should change as that DEB-Selection had to survive a situation of being outnumbered. Laura Kluge prevailed again and passed to Andrea Lanzl, who was running along, and who only had to hold out her bat to give Germany the lead.
In the middle section the Hungarians increased the pressure and created more chances. First, Jule Flöten in the German goal was able to prevent the equalizer with two solo attempts. However, the guests then took advantage of an outnumbered situation, albeit very happily, to equalize. A pass in front of the German goal bounced off the defender's stick and into her own net. The German women weren't impressed by this and took the lead again just two minutes later. Anna-Maria Nickisch fed Franziska Feldmeier, who passed on local hero Marie Delarbre and made it 2-1. From the 30th minute, Franziska Albl from Allgäu replaced Flötgen in the German goal.
Right at the beginning of the final third, captain Julia Zorn failed twice just in front of the Hungarian goal. In the power play (45th) she managed to score. With a beautiful shot from the blue line, she beat the Hungarian goalkeeper to make the final score 3-1.
Women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker: “We played a very good game today. The team stuck to the game plan for over 60 minutes. The goal was to consistently bring the puck forward and look for the goal. We will try to maintain and improve this performance for the two upcoming games against France.”
