The U18 national team won the first of two test matches at the Federal Training Center in Füssen against Slovenia 4:1 (1:0; 0:0; 3.1). The second game will take place tomorrow at 13.30 p.m.
In the first period of the game, Justin Schütz was able to give his colors a deserved 1-0 lead thanks to a pass from Yannik Valentin and Taro Jentzsch. After a goalless middle period, first Dennis Lobach, then Manuel Albach and finally Tim Stützle increased the score to 4-0. 30 seconds before the end, Meznar Erik robbed Tobias Ancicka of his shoutout with his 1:4 goal and thus sealed the final score.
Frank Fischöder, U18 national coach: "A good start with the first victory against a World Cup opponent. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity to convert our superiority into more goals. We will continue to work on the details until the second game tomorrow."
