The qualifying rounds of the German Young Talent League for the newly created U20 Divisions I to III for the 2018/19 season as part of the adjustment and restructuring of the age groups will begin next Friday.
The first four teams of the DNL Group Red, the Jungadler Mannheim, the Kölner EC Die Haie, the Düsseldorfer EG and the pioneering Eisbären Juniors Berlin have already automatically qualified for the U20 Division I of the 2018/19 season by participating in this year's semi-finals of the German Young Talent League. The remaining four places will be played in two groups. In Group A, EC Bad Tölz and the EV Landshut on ESC Dresden and the pioneering Starbulls Rosenheim. In Group B, Augsburger EV and Krefelder EV are fighting against EV Regensburg and Iserlohner EC in a single round for the sporting qualification for the highest U20 division. The first and second place teams in Groups A and B automatically qualify for Division I in the 2018/19 season, the four other teams are seeded in Division II in the coming season.
During the season for the ERC Ingolstadt and the Schwenninger ERC has already ended and they will certainly compete in Division II in the coming season, four other teams still have the chance to recommend themselves. The ESV Kaufbeuren and EV Füssen will compete in the qualifying round against the first place team in the DNL2 North, ES Weißwasser, and the first place team in the DNL2 South, SC Riessersee. The first two teams qualify for participation in the U20 Division II, the other two teams for Division III.
In the coming 2018/19 season, eight teams will play in U20 Division I and eight in Division II. Like the DNL20 this year, the U2 Division III will be divided into North and South.
