At the end of the series, the four winners of the eight pairings advance to the quarter-finals of the Oberliga.
A total of 16 teams qualified for the first round of the Oberliga playoffs. Eight from the north and eight from the south. The league leader Oberliga Nord, the Tilburg Trappers, will face the eighth-placed team Oberliga Süd, the Blue Devils from Weiden. As the first in the southern round, Deggendorfer SC welcomes the last qualifiers in the northern round, Herner EV.
