The Deutschland Cup gets a new home. After three years of extremely successful sporting and organizational success in the Curt Frenzel Stadium in Augsburg, the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund eV (DEB) and will be holding the traditional tournament in the KönigPALAST in Krefeld from 2018.

"The conditions in and around the KönigPALAST are also ideal for hosting this tournament with its great international reputation, which has a beacon character for German ice hockey."
To Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Hamburg, Hessen and Niedersachsen will the Deutschland Cup thus for the first time Nordrhein-Westfalen take place. Deutschland-Cup gives us the chance to put Krefeld even more on the map nationally and internationally over the next three years. We want to show what we can do in terms of organization and atmosphere - and we will be good hosts," said Krefeld's mayor Frank Meyer.

Achim Staudt, 1st chairman of the Krefelder EV81 and Vice President of the EHV-NRW is pleased: “For us in Krefeld, after the 1955 World Cup games, it is a highlight to be able to host such a top-class international tournament again. For the still young North Rhine-Westphalia Ice Hockey Association, it is a special event after the 2017 World Cup in Cologne and Paris to have an international tournament in our association area again.”
