Women's national team Switzerland lost 4:2 (5:1; 1:1; 4:0) in the first game of the 0-nation tournament in Dmitrov/Russia.
The German team was able to take a 9-1 lead in the 0th minute of the game thanks to a powerplay goal from Andrea Lanzl, but despite significantly more play, other good opportunities remained unused. The Swiss equalized in the 13th minute of the game despite being numerically inferior.
In the second third, the Swiss extended their lead by two more points until the DEB-Selection scored the 2-3 goal shortly after a time-out. Nina Kamenik converted on a pass from Carina Strobel and Marie Delarbre. But the Swiss added two more goals before the second break and maintained this result over time after a goalless final period.
The next game is tomorrow at 16.00 p.m. against hosts Russia.
Benjamin Hinterstocker, women's national coach: “We started the game very committed today and the team implemented the instructions well. With more goals in the first third the course of the game would have definitely changed. In the second third we didn't play smart enough to be successful. The last third ended in a draw and we managed to play our ice hockey again. For tomorrow's game against Russia, the main thing we have to do is reduce the penalty times and play consistent ice hockey for 60 minutes, one change at a time.”

The German U18 women's national team Sweden had to admit defeat 2:4 (1:1; 0:2; 1:1) in the first tournament game in Stupino, Russia.
At the beginning, the game was mostly played in the neutral zone, the German team held its own blue line well and when an attack came towards the goal, Johanna May was there in the German goal. The 11th minute of the game brought Sweden the lead. Estelle Forsberg played her way through the German defense and beat May to make it 0:1 from the German perspective. Franziska Klinger wanted to do the same two minutes later, but after a nice solo move she didn't hit the puck properly. A minute later, Lilli Welcke did better and simply maneuvered the puck towards the Swedish goal. The puck slipped under the arm of Swedish goalkeeper Wilma Nilsson and the score was 1:1.
The second third had just begun when Sweden's Nathalie Lidmann moved from the blue line and Fanny Brolin deflected the disc unstoppably in front of Johanna May into the German goal to give Sweden a 1-2 lead. In the 29th minute, the Swedes used a power play to extend their lead to 1:3, Lina Ljungblom scored in the margin. But the German team didn't give up and their determination showed consequences: After a commotion in front of the Swedish goal, Lilli Welcke grabbed the disc, drove behind the goal, braked, came back in front of the goal on the same side and surprised the Sweden goalkeeper with one Pawn trick to make it 2:3.
In the final section they left DEB-Women had no doubts about wanting to turn the game around, but the equalizer didn't want to fall. On the other hand, Sweden took advantage of the German team's offensive play and countered strongly.
