The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) and HUDSON GmbH have set out in writing their common intention to further develop operating concepts for ice rinks. For this purpose, a joint cooperation agreement was signed between the two partners.
It is a fact that many ice rinks in Germany are getting old. On the one hand, there is a great demand for ice cream, but on the other hand, halls have to be closed because they can no longer meet the requirements. As the leading German association, the DEB This topic was adopted and the initial spark was set under the motto “The country needs new ice rinks” as part of the FSB (International Trade Fair for Open Spaces, Sports and Swimming Facilities). In addition to the sporting situation, the economic operation of an ice rink is a crucial point for its continued existence. The new partner HUDSON GmbH from Amberg is involved in the issue of energy efficiency. Under the slogan “LED and more”, HUDSON shows, among other things, that economical operation of ice rinks can go hand in hand with optimized energy use.
“We offer solutions from a single source for lighting projects. When we implemented measures, we noticed starting points for a holistic energy perspective. We have worked on this task in our network and offer this division solutions for the continued operation and construction of new ice rinks,” says Robert Weinberg, Managing Director of HUDSON GmbH. “In addition to intelligent lighting controls, this also involves integrating waste heat utilization into district concepts. There are many options, but each must be considered individually. In addition to the structural requirements, funding advice is also required.”
Robert Schütt, Head of Marketing DEB: "With the DEB Facility Pool, we are taking an innovative approach and pursuing a new concept for the area of ice rink infrastructure. Hudson GmbH is the ideal first partner to pool the expertise of various experts and work actively on the hall situation. We look forward to working with Robert Weinberg and his team.”
