U18 women with 3-nation tournament in Füssen / Women meet Switzerland
In the first week of October, the women's national team will be taking to the ice again from October 02.10.2017nd, 18, and the U04.10.2017 women's national team from October XNUMXth, XNUMX, in parallel and partly together, at the Federal Performance Center (BLZ) in Füssen.
Under the leadership of women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker and U18 women's national coach Tommy Kettner as well as the coaching team around Franziska Busch (assistant coach), Andreas Jorde (goalkeeper coach), Viona Harrer (goalkeeper coach) and Marco Dietzel (athletic coach), the 23 women's and 23 U18 women's national players will initially have on- and off-ice sessions on the program before going into international comparisons at the weekend.
While the U18 women stay in Füssen and play against Russia (October 07.10th / 15.30:08.10 p.m.) and Switzerland (October 10.30th / 07.10:17.30 a.m.), the women travel to Zuchwil (Switzerland) and meet the Swiss in two games (October 08.10th). / 11.30 p.m. and October XNUMXth / XNUMX a.m.). The test in Füssen will be a difficult task for the young talent women. They were able to win their last games confidently against Austria, but the two upcoming opponents are now both established teams in the top division and therefore also opponents of them at the World Cup next January DEB-Selection. “The games will be physically much more intense than the last games against Austria,” predicts Kettner. “These tests are extremely important for the development of our game and are a good opportunity for the girls to see how Russia and Switzerland operate.”
For the women, the games in Switzerland with the Olympic bronze medalists in Sochi will be the next two international games in the young season after the games in August against Sweden, Russia and Finland. The Swiss only came in seventh place at the last World Cup, but they are certainly not to be underestimated and are one of the top European teams. In contrast to the last course in Sweden, the line-up will change in some positions and will have a positive impact on the overall team image.
The final squad for both teams will only be nominated during the training week in Füssen. "We will name two strong teams for the weekend. Our goal is to think both in a short-term, results-oriented way and in a long-term perspective in order to continue to promote constant development," says Hinterstocker.
