The U16 national team won 3:10 (4:2; 0:4; 2:4) against hosts Austria in the first game of the three-nation tournament in Kitzbühel.
Norbert Weber, U16 national coach: “We got into the game very well today with two power play goals in the first third and were able to achieve a shooting ratio of 40:18 shots on goal by the final whistle. Overall, we coaches are very satisfied with the team’s performance at the start of the tournament.”
The best player from the German team was John Peterka.
